    Hey Scarborough Dude, Namaste!

I just tuned into the Dick and Janes Podcast about 5 episodes ago and I'm hooked.
As a fellow podcaster I very much apreciated your 'first to pee in the snow' segment. I was thinking to myself "Man, why didn't I think of that?" And then I realized that
(although I never mentioned it on the show at the time) I had recorded my January 20th, episode #14, intro while taking a shit! That sounds wierd but it was early and I was drinking coffee while doing diaphramatic breathing exercises... You can kind of tell now that I mention it.
So while I do not refute your claim- I shall make my own claim in the #2 department. Any challengers?

P.S. Next time you feel intollerant of anything - even intollerance, recall that compasion, love and empathy for your enemies disarms them.

Well Arthur, I hate to do this to you, after those kind words, but I'm afraid I've got you beat on Numbers One and Two! On DicksnJanes podcast #21 (posted August 20, 2005), I continued the narration of my journey thru Ontario and Quebec while taking a dump at camp. However, there were no rude sound effects, so that detracts somewhat from the claim- guess I'll have to go back and listen to yours to compare.

I suspect I may be the "first to vomit" if this silliness keeps up -

Enjoyed the description of your CPR days - the 'Gang' boss sounds like a type A kind of personality with a side of murder and mayhem...

Also liked the tunes - nice one!

Shit!! Never even thought of puking on a show! Well, there you go Arthur - that first is unclaimed, as far as I know. Go for it!!

Great stories as always, SD. And I liked the rant as well - fundamentalism is almost always a bad thing. Well, perhaps it wouldn't be such a bad thing if they'd just keep it to themselves. And when did Focus on the Family arrive here?! I thought I left that behind months ago.

And sad to say, but there's someone who has y'all beat in the #2 department with his podcast here.

Hi dude, what a great show this week. I was totally captivated by your story working on the railroad gangs up in B.C. It was a slice of Canadiana. And I love the improved sound quality since the early days. The iRiver beats the iTalk/iPod combo hands down. Take it easy!

Hey Keith! Great to know you're still out there listening - and can remember back to when the sound was pretty shitty... ya, that iRiver was a great investment- now one day maybe I'll get a real mike. But for now being free and mobile suits me best. Stay tuned eh...

    Hey S.Dude,
I wrote this post on my blog about the whole cartoon issue and a bit more. Most of what I've written agrees with you. I'm irreligious.
I like ur podcast dude. Did you hear Adam Curry read out my email on DSC 335 btw? I was quite surprised.
Also, keep playing all of this awesome music and some more! I feel like I'm back in 95, sitting next to my dad on our living room carpet in his old house, listening to his LPs.

Sorry folks - guess I could just delete messages like that from our old friend 'anonymous', but hey, if they feel the need to express themselves in that way, well.... it says a lot more about anomymous than the rest of us...

    Anonymous said...

yeah, who has a name like that anyway? must have had a real f*ed up childhood... :-)

    Anonymous said...

The eponoymous Mr. Anonymous. Who he be? It's obvious: It's Mr. Prick! U been outed, boy! Love those trainarratives, Mr. Dude. And I like it when you jump the track, too. Full steam ahead, buddy.

    Scarborough Dude said...

No way Wizzie - that ain't Prick. I always thought 'Anonymous' was a mutual friend of ours who sometimes goes by the name of Barnacle Bill, but I guess maybe I'm wrong. It'd be more fun if he/she used a real name and came up with something a little more original though. Over to you, Anonymass...

    Another great show SD!

I too loved the railroad narrative, and it put me in mind of a time when I was doing a similar thing in Norh west England around 15 years ago.

Tough blokes, hard work, but great times.

    Keep 'em coming mate!
